(More customer reviews)I just used this rake to dethatch my lawn this weekend. Two passes at a 45 degree angle to each other, followed by a fairly close mow. I have about 2/3 acre in lawn and wound up emptying the grass catcher (commercial mower, no less) nearly 40 times! (That's two or three passes worth of mowing ...) I didn't add weight and set the height just a little lower than instructed. This is a minimal rake, but works. For less money you can buy the Brinly 40", but it's significantly lighter. For a bit more than twice as much you can but a John Deere with a lever to raise and lower the wheels, but the extra convenience just wasn't worth the money for a once-a-year job. I regard this rake as just heavy enough, just wide enough, and it worked just fine.
