(More customer reviews)I purchased these spikes hoping that I would be able to aerate my lawn. I don't have a very large area to cover. First of all, some of the spikes don't screw into the holes well, and I had to leave them out. It takes a while to screw them in. Once I got them strapped onto my shoes, it was pretty obvious to me, that they were not going to work out as advertised. The shoes would not stay in place; the straps don't really secure your shoes to the spikes well at all; they kept sliding all over the place. The bottom line is these spike shoes are not worth the money or the hassle. I would have been better off renting an aerator. The only good thing about these is they aren't very expensive.
