(More customer reviews)This is a very good spreader for light, residential use. I have about 5,000 sq ft of lawn, and use a spreader about 3 times a year. For that type of use, this is a perfect match -- it is small, easy to store, and spreads very well. If you have more a more demanding application, you'll want to get something that is more beefier in construction.
I had a low-end Scotts spreader that lasted about 17 years. It died on me, and I wanted to replace it with something similar. This cost $15, which was $10 less than the best price I could find for a Scotts Basic model. Excellent value for the price, and it works well. The gearing is all plastic and is designed for light use. But, if light use is what you're looking for, this model will be a good choice.
