The 22-inch wide shovel bed gathers and holds a lot of snow if you are using it to 'plow' your driveway. 22-inch shovels are difficult to find locally. Most shovels are shallow and only 18-20 inches wide. The curved handle does take the strain off the back and transfers it to the arms when lifting snow. This shovel is poly with a steel-core handle which makes it slightly heavier than smaller models. If moving a lot of snow is your goal, this shovel fills the bill.
