Since I have had this over a month now, and my plants, (tomatoes and peppers) are needing staking, I have discovered that I don't need to spend the extra money on this. They don't hold up the plants as well as the stakes I bought at Home Depot. If you just like to spend the extra money, then go ahead, otherwise, I would just buy the box and buy your own staking sticks with some twine, works just as well.

(More customer reviews)Just before Hurricane Charley and his 2 sisters rubbed up against the Orlando area a couple years ago, I bought the Coleman 400 Watt Inverter. We lost our power for 5 days at a time.
Clamping this unit directly to the battery and closing the hood, I ran an extension cord into the house and plugged a 3-way into the end. We could run 3 12in. oscillating fans all night and sleep comfortably!
Most fans draw less than 1 amp per hour, so the draw on the battery is minimal. Just fire up the car (sitting in the AC) for a few minutes and the battery is topped off.
I went this route because the generator method has too many negatives for me: Theft or worse, fumes or worse, and the incessant noise. This can make your neighbors more than a little testy, especially if they have no power at all. And as always happens, the more you have the more you want. All we really needed was a way to cool off and cold drinks. The cooling off problem resolved, we turned to cooling food and drinks. This is easy. Freeze clean gallon milk jugs with drinkable water. As it melts, you've got cold water! (Unlike tornadoes, hurricanes let you know they are coming; you have time to prepare.) All of your cold stuff will be cold already so the ice chest and frozen water will work fine for a good many days. 2 ice chests lets you go get more stuff without it thawing or melting before you get back home. We use a Coleman stove outside for cooking and making coffee. The coffee became a huge hit with the neighbors! We use battery operated lights instead of candles. Candles are a no no! Not much light, unwanted heat and a real fire hazard. Candles are for romance. A boom box will run forever on batteries as long as you don't use the cd or cassette player. and lastly, we have a small battery operated TV. We are news junkies.
Here's how to figure how many amps you are drawing off your car battery:
Amps X Volts(120)= Watts. Examples: .5amps X 120volts = 60 Watts. 3amps X 120volts = 360 Watts. That's the limit for this 400 Watt Inverter, so forget your big ticket items.

(More customer reviews)This is a good hose and just what I need for a long section of the yard. It's pretty to watch the water plume about; and the birds like it. BUT, when turning on the water, the water must be turned on slowly to allow each of the three tubes to inflate. Each time, turn the water on slowly until the hose has time to properly expand. That way, the holes won't enlarge. Also, after turning the water on slowly, increase the pressure just enough to water the area without putting too much pressure on the holes. This hose is indeed a cheaper hose; but it seems to be one of the only ones available these days. Good luck with this hose, which requires a slow and patient hand.
UPDATE-the hose has sprung several leaks; so even when you're careful, this hose is inadequate. If a company goes to all the trouble to produce a product, why not go ahead and do a good job. This hose is a waste of effort, resources, time, and money.

(More customer reviews)We've used Tanglefoot for years on Fruit and Flowering trees - and started using it on all the trees when we moved "South" to NJ. We put a band about 2" wide approximately 2-3' high in early spring. Pests that would climb the trunk and eat the leaves or infest the fruit are trapped.
We also coat red spheres with it, to trap flying insects that would otherwise infest the fruit. It works well - but is getting harder to find. The big box stores stopped carrying it, so I was pleased to find it on Amazon this year!

In those five years, we've tried a large number of ways to stop this yearly invasion:
- Traditional Traps
They simply didn't work. Either the mouse could eat the bait without triggering the trap, or it would catch the mouse without killing it - which was pretty disgusting. I did find one type of traditional trap that worked, but then it was discontinued.
- Glue Traps
These were basically worthless. Mice would drag them to a new location, but then free themselves without too much trouble.
- Poison
This was a fun solution - I would go into my basement (where I work) and smell a week-dead mouse that I couldn't find.
- "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"
One year I simply didn't bother to try to catch them; I was too exhausted from previous attempts. I figured as long as they stayed hidden, I would ignore their existence. This option didn't go over too well with the wife.
After all this frustration, I figured I would try the Rat Zapper. All I can say is: IT WORKS! I caught 6 mice in the first 48 hours I had it set up, and disposing of the mice and resetting the trap was clean and easy. Best of all, I can use this trap for years to come; it no longer has to be a yearly experiment to see how I can catch our rodent visitors.

Architectural Mailboxes Coronado In-ground Decorative Mailbox Post, Black Review

(More customer reviews)My review of this mailbox post may seem a bit picky, but consider that this is a premium post and carried a premium price, so the standard I judge it against is very high.
This post is very high quality, made of aluminum that will not rust with a baked on enamel finish. I looked great in pictures, and it looks great installed. It is made to pair with the Coronado mailbox which is also extremely high quality. The post comes in four parts; the main post which is just a square tube, but is predrilled to accept the mailbox arm. First you install this tube with a concrete base, making sure it get it good and plumb. Care needs to be taken to measure, measure, and measure again to get the post in the proper depth and distance from the curb. The predrilled holes means you are stuck with wherever you set the post, no last minute adjustment like you may have on a wooden post. I set mine 42" above the street and 6" back from the curb to make sure it didn't get accidentally bumped. The second piece is the newel top which is very heavy and made of cast aluminum wit baked on paint. The third and fourth pieces form the mailbox arm; the main arm goes on first, it is very heavy gauge steel, and the other piece goes underneath to act as a cover after the mailbox is bolted down. It is also heavy gauge metal.
The arm is notched in the back to accommodate the mailbox better, very nice.
Overall excellent quality, BUT then I noticed the hardware which comes in a separate box. These are just simple bolts of the right length, the size and strength is good, but they were unfinished. So the standard silver bolt heads were going to be very visible against the black mailbox post. So I spray painted the heads before installing, I'm surprised at this cost they didn't come color matched. Then the bolts supplied to fasten the mailbox down were standard hex head bolts, leaving four very large bolt heads inside the mailbox. I would have expected round head bolts to be supplied for this purpose as they were for the rear supports, again I was disappointed in the hardware.
Now that the box is up I love it, my neighbors have all noticed it. One installation tip; be careful not to over tighten the arm to the main post, the post is aluminum which is fairly soft and will bend if over tightened. I used a very small 1/4 ratchet to install mine and even though I went easy on it I did dimple the back of the post a little bit.

For any other "first timers" out there, spend the extra $80 and go with a 44,000+ btu heater. I live in southern California, and our winter evenings are often on the cool side (in the low 50's), but not really cold. Tonight it is a warm evening (60 degrees) and I am trying this product for the first time. I have to sit right next to it (about a foot and a half) to feel any warmth - and that is after moving it to a side table next to my chair. I hardly felt any warmth with it on the patio table, which is where it is "supposed" to be placed. Definitely not worth the money. You get what you pay for! If you really want some heat, do not buy this heater.

Update: Unfortunately, the raccoons have figured out a way to step around or bend this thing, and it does not keep them off the shed. I am now trapping them instead. The product does not advertise that they deter raccoons, so I can't say it is a knock against them. I was just hoping it would.

(More customer reviews)There are three primary points of failure, and if you are not suspecting, you will quickly find them all.
The hose fits into a canvas sheet that will, in turn, fit over the Toro collapsing bin. The fit is achieved by pulling a drawstring and closing the bin. While in vacuum mode, there is considerable air pressure from the vac into the bag.
The first failure is that the draw is simply not enough to hold the canvas to the bin while the vac is operating. After having it pop off a dozen or so times, I came up with the idea of *clamping* the bag to the bin, using, of all things, automobile jumper cables. This worked, but the loose fit still allowed bits of leaves to be ejected around the lid.
The second point of failure is the hose - it is simply inserted into the canvas, and is held in place only by an elastic band inside the canvas sheet. Anyone who has ever messed with venting a dryer knows this simply will not work - and the air pressure here is much higher (not to mention the additional effect of the flying debris). With the lid finally secured by clamps, the hose kept popping out of place, further spewing leaf debris everywhere. The fix for this is some kind of cable tie, like what you would find on a dryer vent. Having none at hand, I simply used about a half roll of duct tape and put an end to that issue.
The third point of failure is that the hose has a small diameter and can get clogged up fast. During operation, you must make sure the hose is as straight as possible, as any kinks will cause debris to collect inside the hose.
These problems made a very difficult afternoon of it, having to stop and spend an hour or so re-engineering the equipment. I would not recommend it for that reason. Honestly, do people ever test these things before they start selling them?

The unit is lightweight and easy to move. It has a variety of included attachments to tackle almost all jobs around the home. One nice feature is the adjustable spray tip on the wide-angle wand. The unit has a lot of power for an electrical pressure washer -- more than enough to clean driveways, decks, grills, mowers, etc.
Cons:
As mentioned in many other reviews, the plastic hose adapter leaks water, right in the middle where the two washers meet. The leaking is so bad as to make the unit unusable, unless you enjoy being sprayed with a torrent of water while you work. The solution: go down to your local hardware store and buy a brass male-to-male hose adapter for 8 bucks. Now you are in business.
The high-pressure hose that runs from the unit to the spray-gun is made from a stiff plastic that tangles easily and is hard to manage as you move around. I am currently researching buying an after-market hose made from high quality rubber to avoid this problem.
Also, don't bother storing the hose using the built-in reel. It is fussy work trying to get the hose on and off, and bending the hose in tight circles makes it that much easier to tangle when you use it. Simply coil the hose loosely and drop it around the top of the handle. This will save you lots of time.
Final thoughts: This unit provides a good value among other electric pressure washers, if you don't mind upgrading the hose adapter and dealing with a slightly annoying hose.
