(More customer reviews)I have had one of these for 2+ years and use it a lot. Without question this is the best grill I have ever owned. Super-heavy real cast iron grate, loads of cooking space, easy enough to dump the ashes etc., lid sels well etc.
I do not own a cover for it and have kept it outdoors all this time. Still looks decent except the stained wood shelves have lost their finish. Anyone with a tiny bit of ambition could re-stain them. But the painted finish on the grill itself is quite durable.
Space like this gives me a great deal of control. I have room to build a big fire in the middle, keep a cast-iron griddle to one side and use the other edge for "holding" stuff off the direct heat etc. A real winner.
Can be bought cheaper and assembled at Lowes stores.

And keeps them cool for more than 24 hours. My big complaint is that the faux marble top that came with it looked as if it had been left out in the sun for a couple of years. It was faded and looked like it was covered in bird crap (it wasn't). Don't know if I accidentally got an old one, or if this is how they all look. A real summer bummer.

Prago 48-Inch Outdoor Propane Vertical Smoker Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned this smoker for about a year now. I must say I was less than impressed when I received it. It seemed a lot flimsier(sp) than I had thought it woud be. The legs are very weak, and one needs to be careful when moving the smoker around. I fired it up for the first time to burn off all of the grease, and other things that would ruin your first smoking attempt. First of all use a lighter to start the smoker. If you use the igniter provided you will blow yourself up.
The smoker is single wall constructruction, so the wind affects it significantly. If it is cool out, and windy it is hard to keep the temperature steady. I solved this problem by buiding a shed onto the side of my shop, for the smoker. I also converted it to natural gas, as it consumed a great deal of propane. The control knob is not indexed properly, so what it says is wrong as far as the settings are concerned. You need to look at the flame to actually see where it is set.
Now that it is on Natural gas it has been a good smoker. I cook about every weekend for others. I do mostly pork sholders, and ribs. I put 6 to 8 pork sholders in at a time. I load up the wood box only once during the whole process. It actually only produces smoke from the wood for about 2 hrs. I leave it this way for 8 hrs. I then remove the meat, and wrap each sholder in foil. It then returns to the smoker for another 4 hours. It always comes out where it is juicy, and just falls apart. The whole time I try to maintain a temp. of 200 deg. I never put water in the pan. This helps it develop a bark on the meat. As the juices drip into the pan they develop a very good smoke. Also put something under the smoker to catch the grease. It will make a mess if you don't.
Bottom line is you can find a better smoker for the money. If you already have one you can make it work just fine.

(More customer reviews)I have had worm farms before, but this is the easiest way to actually seperate the food from the castings. You use a system of trays, intially placing the food in the bottom tray, and the tray above it is mostly fiberous material. Then you stop feeding them on the lower tray and then start adding food to the tray up above, and then adding another more fiberous tray.
This system eliminates the feeding the worms in one spot and then pulling out the castings, trying to leave all of the worms in there you can. I like that the worms have more mobility so just in case your feeding area is too wet they can move around. I also like there is lots of air in this system so everything doesn't get too wet.
The tray system was easy to put together, it took only a few minutes. It also comes with your initial bedding of coconut husks. Ideally you will want to put your farm into place, and wet down your bedding, and then get your worms. There are instructions on the top of the lid of the bin to tell you what to feed your worms with, and a great guide that also comes with the bin. I highly recommend this worm bin.

Tumbleweed 200003 Rotating Compost Bin - Green Review

(More customer reviews)We have just gotten our second one. This is a great product because we can just push to tumble instead of using a shovel or rake or special compost turner. Since we both have back problems that just didn't work.
It works real well even in the shade. We have ours on the north side of our house (in CA) so it takes longer than four weeks, but it still works. It does get fruit flies and other insects and worms, but we haven't had problems with rodents or raccoons, which do live in the area. If you don't put meat or fat in it, it doesn't smell like food, it smells like dirt, so mammals aren't attracted.
However once you get it filled you do need to let it sit and compost without adding anything else (it helps to keep turning). Then you need to find a place to store the compost and to move it, which was too strenuous for us. So our solution was to buy two, one for storage, one for putting new stuff in. The second one doesn't take up a lot of extra space because they both use the same space to rotate.
So start with one, then when you find out how easy it works you'll want the other one.
We ordered ours through Planet Natural and it came quickly and in good shape. It's real easy to put together (but you do need 2 people) and not that heavy when empty (about 30 pounds).

Sketch Board, 23.5 x 26in Review

(More customer reviews)When I was new in art school, I bought this board as well as other boards sold in art supply stores that typically have an opening for carrying the board and clamps. The opening is helpful if you intend to take it from home to class. Otherwise, the design proved to be an inconvenience in use.
The opening and the clamps take up valuable space, making the actual sheet it accommodates smaller than 26 in. It is a big deal to artists who want to maximize their drawing size on a sheet and don't want trim the sheet to accommodate the board. The clamps even become a pain if you want to use it with a big pad of news print to do life drawings, because you need to flip the pages quickly when the pose changes.
A better and cheaper option is to buy a medium density fiberboard in Home Depot or other similar stores. It is made of the same material. It comes in at much bigger size. Then have the store cut it to the size you want. Often you can get a few boards with different sizes out of one board. All of my art friends quickly switched to this approach once they figured that they needed more drawing boards.
To use the DIY board, artists typically tape the paper to the board with painter's tape tape carried by Home Depot alike. (masking tape is not advisable as it has stronger glue, is difficult to take off and will destroy the sheet after it is left on for too long.) Or you can get two clamps and use them instead of tape. It is also advisable to tape 1-2 sheet of newsprint paper underneath the drawing sheet to make the support a bit softer.

There is abig diference in theirs compared with the less expensive others sold on Amazon and hardware stores.
The difference is the cutting edge. It is made of much heavier steel.
Their service is beyond excellent. They ship on the same or next business day by Priority Mail. I usually get them in two or three days. You can't beat Tom and Becky. They are a family husband and wife business.
If you want the auger to last, buy from Custom Auger. If you want it for two or three holes, the cheap ones "MIGHT" do.

I bought this grill for this summers motorcycle camping adventures. I can't think of a better use for this grill. Narrower main body section gives many options for tying down, and on my bike (a shadow 750) the bottom "foot hole" was able to go over and around my sissy bar and sit on my rack. Pretty sweet. 2 up camping now comes with a BBQ!
The Bad (at least for motorcycle camping):
It is a bit flimsy (but quite stable when open for grilling). With care, I am expecting to get about 50 or so BBQs out of it. After it falls apart I am planning to go to a metal shop in town and have it re-fabricated in some heaver gauge steel. I would be willing to have a little heaver (and smaller) grill for motorcycle camping if it was durable. The grilling surface is large. Expect to need about 3 pounds of charcoal to get it going well, 6 pounds (an entire small bag) of charcoal for a full grill to feed 4+ people. This makes it a requirement to setup camp, and then ride out to get groceries and charcoal. Messy.
I've BBQ'd for years and have to say the "action" on this grill is quite good. If you really have a need for an extremely portable grill, I would definitely recommend it. If you are just looking for a smaller grill for car camping or porch cookouts I would recommend the more traditional Coleman and Weber portable grills with a lid and better durability.

Weber 721001 Smokey Mountain Cooker 18 1/2 Inch Smoker Review

(More customer reviews)As a fan of the earlier Smokey Mountain Cooker, I'm surprised and gratified with the changes they made to the smoker.
The previous smoker was an easy 5 stars in my book. I guess I'd have to give this one 6 stars, because it's better!
After using my old smoker for some time, I began finding ways to improve it. It seems that Weber thought so too, and their changes include all of mine plus a few more.
Here are some important improvements:
Wider door for adding charcoal & such. This is NOT a small detail but rather a much appreciated design change. The older model's smaller door made it more difficult to place wood chunks or new charcoal where I wanted them and once upon a time I knocked the water pan down into the coals trying to put a wood chunk toward the back of the smoker.
The door latch is spring loaded and features a lever type handle. The previous door latch is not spring loaded and had a featureless round knob. It was less secure and not always easy to tell if the latch was fully closed. Now it's obvious -- for those of us who need things to be obvious. :)
Built-in thermometer! To think I paid more than Amazon's current price on the smoker and then another $50 on a thermometer. Mine is even in the same place on the lid. Great minds think alike, I guess... and Weber added this useful feature while keeping the price under control.
Bottom ash catch pan. I never thought of that one but then again I have a concrete pad set up and it was never a big deal to sweep up a few stray ashes.
Overall, the smoker performs as well as the older model but is much easier to use. With the thermometer, it will be much easier to maintain temperature and smoke up some great grub right out of the box.
I am by no means an expert, but here are a few quick tips for using this smoker.
0. If you are interested in instant gratification, get a gas grill or go out for dinner. It takes some work, time and patience to use and maintain this smoker.
1. Keep the temperature as stable as you can.
2. Don't lift the lid any more than you have to (for mopping, adding charcoal, etc.
3. Use briquets, at least at first. It's much easier to work with compared to lump charcoal. If you do choose to use lump charcoal, don't add any extra wood chips or would chunks! You'll oversmoke the food and that's bad!
4. Start early. Give the charcoal time to start up, and the liquid in the water pan to get up to temperature before you put on the food.
5. Line the water pan with aluminum foil. Trust me; it will be much easier to clean later if you do!
6. Make small changes to the vents when you need to adjust the temperature. Give it some time to work.
7. Get a good book on smoking. I think we all know a good place to look for one...
8. The internet is your friend. Check out Weber's site, some of the bbq forums and most definitely Virtual Weber Bullet.

I've been using the set up now for several weeks. It's a whole lot easier than using a wheel barrow. Saves a lot of time and prevents back aches. Only negative I've found so far is the dump bucket release lever is a little flimsy.
